Our Story at Eureka Roadhouse
A Family-Owned Alaska Stop
Built on Faith, Food, Fuel, and Welcome

At Eureka Roadhouse, we believe a dependable Alaska roadhouse should feel like more than a place to stop. It should feel like a warm welcome in the middle of the journey. Since 1936, this historic stop near Eureka Summit has served travelers, locals, workers, hunters, snowmachiners, ATV riders, campers, and families exploring Alaska’s beautiful back country. Today, under our family’s ownership, we are proud to continue that legacy with reliable fuel, good food, clean facilities, lodging, friendly service, and a place where every guest can feel right at home.

A Historic Alaska Roadhouse With a New Family Chapter

Our family has been part of Alaska’s fuel distribution, convenience store, and hospitality industries for many years. Over time, we saw a real need in this area for a dependable, welcoming stop where people could fuel up, enjoy a great meal, use clean restrooms, and take a real break from the road.

Eureka Roadhouse was established in 1936, and that history matters to us. Since taking ownership in 2025, the Schliesing family has focused on honoring the past while improving the property for the future.

We are not just running a business. We are preserving a legacy, serving people with purpose, and building something that can last.

Why This Place Matters to Us

We love seeing people out doing what they love: riding, exploring, traveling, hunting, camping, working, and adventuring through Alaska country.

When someone is out near the summit, a reliable stop can make all the difference.

That is why being open, prepared, friendly, clean, and consistent matters so much to us. A warm meal, a clean restroom, reliable fuel, and a kind word may sound simple, but out here, simple things matter.

Our faith is also part of our story. Overcoming addiction and depression has been life-changing, and through Jesus Christ, my life was saved. That faith continues to shape the way we serve others. If we can be a light in someone’s day, that brings us great joy.

Serving Travelers, Locals, and Outdoor Adventurers

Over the years, Eureka Roadhouse has served truckers, hunters, snowmachiners, travelers from the Lower 48, families, glacier viewers, dog mushers, workers, and local neighbors.

We are proud to be part of this community in more ways than one. My wife and I also started Eureka Trails Inc., a nonprofit trail grooming organization that helps maintain local trails and supports riders, visitors, and the surrounding area.

The adventure, beauty, and community surrounding the summit are special. We are grateful to play a small part in helping people enjoy it safely and comfortably.
